The Campus Academic Resource Program (CARP) is a component of the Division of Undergraduate Education and Academic Planning (DUEAP) Tutoring Services, offering tutorial services during the Fall and Spring semesters Monday-Thursday from 4:00PM-8:00PM and Friday from 11:00AM-2:00PM. CARP is also the only tutorial service open during the Summer.
CARP is looking for qualified undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week during CARP's evening tutoring hours
- Available to work a minimum of 3 hours per week during CARP's daytime office hours
- Preference is given to students who can work for multiple semesters
The starting pay for the WRSS Tutor position for Spring 2017 is $15.00/hour. This type of experience will look great on a resume or CV. Students are not only given the opportunity to learn inductive tutoring skills, but are also given the freedom to create and implement academic workshops and handouts to assist the students who seek academic support from CARP. Students also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of academic support services that CARP offers to SFSU’s GWAR students, which include the Writing Fellowship Program and Peer Response Workshops.
