Overview

Come join us for a special chance to meet Lakota Elder and Leader David Swallow, Jr. (Wowita Uha Mani) in person! Mr. Swallow learned about Lakota history and culture from his ancestors. He is a long-time member of the American Indian Movement (AIM) and has taken part in important events, like the Wounded Knee Occupation in 1973 and the fight for water protection at Standing Rock in 2016. Now that he is an elder, he connects the past with the future. Along with Medicine Woman Nyla Helper, Mr. Swallow shares stories about Lakota lands, traditions, knowledge of the stars, and prophecies with audiences around the world.
